What Is ADHD?
Terms such as school success, school failure, IQ scores, attention and learning difficulty come up frequently today. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental difference characterised by difficulty sustaining attention, excessive activity and impulsivity, affecting a child's academic and social life.
Where Do the Signs Appear?
- Attention: Difficulty focusing on and sustaining attention during tasks, overlooking details, frequently losing belongings.
- Activity: Difficulty staying seated, getting up when expected to remain seated, being constantly on the move.
- Impulsivity: Difficulty waiting one's turn, answering before a question is finished, acting without considering consequences.
Our Approach
Before the programme begins, our clinical psychologist carries out a detailed assessment. The programme includes structured work to extend attention span, impulse control and self-regulation skills, study and organisational strategies, and social skills training.
Cooperation with the family and school is integral to making gains last. Families are given behaviour-management strategies they can apply at home, and a joint monitoring plan is created with the school where needed.
